From Soil To Soul is a documentary series exploring the journey to restore food sovereignty. Through stories of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color farmers, thought leaders, regenerative practitioners, and food activists, we provide a road map to food sovereignty, rebuild the love and respect for our food and land, and activate leadership for systemic transformation.
Their mission is to address the injustices of our food system through local, personal stories of workers, educators, policymakers, and consumers, covering topics such as food waste, food security, indigenous foodways, soil health, food justice, and food policy.
Black, Indigenous, and People of Color are most impacted in food insecurity and nutrition, yet we see many BIPOC and woman leaders rise up to lead food justice and sustainable food initiatives. Our focus is to shed light on these stories and transformative initiatives.
We are deeply grateful for the support and collaboration of the below organizations, without whom we would not be able to fulfill our mission.

Meet our Esteemed Advisory Board Members.
Joe Davila teamed up with Danielle while she was a client at Disney/Hulu. It became clear that our mutual interests extended far beyond solving client challenges, both possessing hearts to serve others and solve humanitarian challenges in our own communities.
The hallmark of Joe’s career has been in the application of emerging technologies to solve problems. Homestead Technologies was among the first to give everyday people the power to easily build their own web site in the earliest days of web use, enabling a global reach. And while at Homestead, Joe developed the Home Stretch internship program to uplift East Palo Alto youth to pursue opportunities in business not typically available to them.
After starting Optimum Solutions, an Oracle and PeopleSoft consultancy, Joe was also a leader in youth ministry with Young Life for mid-peninsula teens, bringing together young people from polarized ends of the socioeconomic spectrum.
Following KPMG’s acquisition of Optimum, Joe continued his outreach as the Seattle Chair of both the KPMG Hispanic & Latino ERG Network and Seattle ALPFA (Assoc of Latino Professionals for America) and serves/has served as advisor on the boards of Seattle ALFPA, ZenLedger, Youth Focus, and Seattle Credit Union which serves the underbanked population of Seattle.
Joe’s local involvement also includes fundraising for the Leukemia Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, National MS Society, and Seattle Boys & Girls Club. Community, Serve Us is a natural extension of what drives Joe in his deep-rooted belief that while we can’t individually change the whole world, when we come together collaboratively, we can absolutely change the world around us and those we touch.
David Maggiore-Anet is currently in his 11th year at Salesforce, contributing as a Senior Account Executive for Media and Entertainment companies. He has had the pleasure of working with some of the largest media companies in the world, helping them use Salesforce technology to support their customers, guests, and subscribers. He started his career as a lawyer before realizing that he much prefers solving problems instead of fighting over them. He took an abrupt right turn into technology sales and landed at LexisNexis for 10 years before finding his dream job at Salesforce. His spare time is spent with his wife and high school sweetheart Jeanette, son Calvin (sophomore at UC Santa Barbara), daughter Ellie Ray (senior in high school), sneaking in runs with his Shepherd Lab (Lexi), and working with Donate Life in honor of his late father-in-law and heart transplant recipient (Bob Maggiore). He is passionate about finding solutions to problems, and believes the "Community, Serve Us" project can and will change lives. He is honored to be part of it.
